Nothing screams romance more than champagne.
Everything from the pop of the cork to the distinctive fizzy sound of the bubbles delicately
bursting at the surface of the glass is an absolute feast for the senses.
And what better way to further ignite your palate than to pair these elegant French bubbles
with some decadent “amuse bouches” (literally, "mouth amusement") designed to tickle the
tongue and delight the eye.
As the only culinary category explicitly dedicated to tantalizing your mouth, these scrumptious, intensely flavored tastes are the perfect bite to bring love to the table on your Valentine’s Day dining experience.
As tiny are they are, “amuse-bouches” can be served with as much elegance, style, and
creativity as a main course. And no worries, you need not be a master chef to pull this off.
Let’s get cooking!
I teamed up with my favorite celebrity Chef, Khristianne Uy aka “Chef K”, to have her curate a majestic Valentine’s Day dinner with delectable bites to die for.
Chef K is known for her appearance on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker as well as for winning
the first season of ABC’s The Taste. She is the Kardashian Family Chef and the personal chef for celebrities like American Idol creator Simon Fuller, actor Charlie Sheen, and Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron, among many others.
Watch the full video to discover how Chef K and I fused our culinary and Champagne expertise to create an exceptionally unique and unforgettable V-day menu pairing her cuisine gems, “Millionaire Egg” and “Foie Gras French Toast”, with my personal Champagne recommendations.
ABOUT THE CHAMPAGNES
I have selected two very different types of Champagnes to pair with Chef K’s flirty “Amuse
Bouches”.
The first one is Champagne Devaux Coeur des Bars Blanc de Blancs Brut (100% Chardonnay)
which goes beautifully with the Caviar-based “Millionaire Egg”, and the second one is Drappier Carte D’Or (80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, 5% Meunier) to exquisitely accompany the meaty Foie Gras on French Toast.
Prepare for a real treat!
Chef K’s special little tidbits combined with these tiny bubbles are guaranteed to dazzle your
palate.
Both Champagnes come from the Cote des Bars in the Aube department of the Champagne
region in France. The Côte des Bars is situated in the Southern part of the Champagne Appellation.
The region has come to exemplify the fruitiest expression of Pinot Noir.
It has also become the cradle of some of Champagne’s most dynamic & exciting terroir driven Growers Champagne.
