It is hard for me to fathom that anyone would ever forget to drink champagne to mark a triumphant moment in life or any kind of celebratory occasion.
Champagne is so intrinsically synonymous with weddings, anniversaries, victorious accomplishments, graduations, ship launchings, Formula One, and, of course, the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, how can any of us ever omit to pop open a bottle when something BIG happens in our lives?
But people do forget. It did and does happen. And mea culpa, I too have been victim of this incomprehensible lapse of consciousness. How can I ever forgive myself for that crime?
On October 22, the world will be celebrating champagne day and I dare anyone to forget to uncork a bottle.
And remember, whatever bottle you pick do not make the cork pop in a stentorian way - it’s a huge faux-pas.
To celebrate this special day in the most bubbliest way possible we reach out to a variety of individuals in Paris and Nice (France), and New York, Hawaii, Los Angeles (USA) and ask them the following question:
WHAT WAS THAT ONE MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU FORGOT TO OPEN A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE?
And as we celebrate Champagne Day today (October 22), we raise a glass (or two) to the most iconic wine in the world, and honor the incredibly talented Chefs de Caves in Champagne who year after year masterfully craft and elaborate this esteemed, prestigious and pétillant wine.
HAPPY CHAMPAGNE DAY!
À votre santé!
